Nearly a month ago, DC released their September solicits. But the Summer of Supergirl, an increase in super-titles, and the My Adventures With Superman show have pushed this post back to mid-July. Champagne problems. When there is so much Supergirl content that I have to shuffle posts, it is a good thing.
Here is a link to the entire slate: https://aiptcomics.com/2026/06/18/september-2026-dc-comics-solicitations/
And it looks to be another great month for DC and another bad month for my wallet. Right out of the gate, I can tell you I am buying Gotham City General, a book about working in a hospital in Gotham City. I am very interested in reading it. But there is also a new Doom Patrol and as a fan of the Patrol I will surely give this new take a try. There is also a new Teen Titans, and another new book that I will discuss later. Lastly, there is a facsimile edition of V For Vendetta #1 coming out. I think DC is putting that out because I have been doing in-depth coverage of the series over on Billy D's Magazines and Monsters podcast. Everyone should be listening and reading along.
But let's get to the Super books! First off, love Lucas Meyer is doing an interlocking cover collage on all the books!
SUPERGIRL #17
STORY: SOPHIE CAMPBELL
ART: JOE QUINONES
COVER A: LUCAS MEYER
After the shocking events of last month's crossover, Ursa and Supergirl are on a time-traveling battle to Krypton's past! They have beef with each other, but they must be careful not to get lost in time! Or, y'know … accidentally rewrite time again! The rest of Super-Force are either locked up in the Kryptonite Kingdom, injured, or fighting a losing battle to stop the spread of Zod's deadly K-Zone!
ON SALE 9/9/26
I am not the biggest fan of time travel stories back to Krypton. But it will be interesting to see Kara back on Krypton and will she try to somehow stop the planet being destroyed. I do think the idea of Ursa being a Supergirl arch-villain is an interesting wrinkle.
SUPERGIRL: SURVIVE #4
STORY: ETHAN PARKER AND GRIFFIN SHERIDAN
ART: ROD REIS

COVER A: ROD REIS
Kara and Kal experience something they've never felt before … the restorative power of a yellow sun. But a storm is coming, and with it, a challenge that will push the young adventurers to their very limit. But from the dark clouds comes a helping hand … but are they friend or foe?
Pretty sure Brainiac is a foe. But this is a new universe so maybe it is whole new world.
I wonder what a super-powered toddler will be like.
SUPERMAN: KINGDOM OF ZOD SPECIAL #1
STORY: JOSHUA WILLIAMSON, MARK WAID, DAN SLOTT, AND SOPHIE CAMPBELL
ART: PAOLO VILLANELLI, BRUNO FRENDA, DAVID MESSINA, AND SOPHIE CAMPBELL

This is it! The startling conclusion to "Kingdom of Zod." The Kryptonite Kingdom has fallen. The only way to stop the war comes with great costs and shocks! Supergirl versus Ursa! Superman versus Zod! The Super-Force against Zod's army! The Super-Family will never be the same after this issue!
ON SALE 9/16/26
The Kryptonite Kingdom has fallen? Wonder what that means. And wonder if we get rid of all that pesky Green K that is everywhere. Pretty cool that Supergirl and Superman are sort of headlining the battles in this conclusion.

Superman, Supergirl, and Lois Lane gather all the members of the Super-Force for a Hail Mary play to restore order to the Kryptonite Kingdom. But Zod and Ursa stand in their way! But not the Zod you might expect …
ON SALE 9/23/26
The date confuses me as this seems to come out after the 'conclusion' we saw in the Special. What do we mean by the Zod we might not expect? Other universe? Powerless? Timid?
Nice cover here as we see what looks like Prime about to fight Jon. And we also get a bunch of more minor players seen here, like Thunder Girl and Superwoman.

SUPERMAN UNLIMITED #17

ART: RACHAEL STOTT
COVER A: LUCAS MEYER
Ever since Superman saved the world from the Kryptonite asteroid, he's had a new power to absorb Kryptonite's deadly radiation. Will his new power be enough to stop Zod's plans? But what is the cost this time? Superboy-Prime, Conner Kent, and Tomorrow Man must work together to hold off Zod's army so Superman can save the world!
ON SALE 9/16/26
Strange that they describe the new power as 'absorbing' K-radiation. I thought it was more temporary immunity. I don't know if 2 minutes would be enough time to beat a fully-powered Zod. But Zod should be just as impaired by Green K unless something is going on with him.
Great cover.

A new story arc begins and leads our heroes into the crosshairs of the League of Assassins and their leader, Ra's al Ghul! Will Talia stand between her father's goals and her beloved Dark Knight?
ON SALE 9/16/26
Given this is an 'elsewhen' book, set in the past, I wonder if Waid is going to try to retell or modernize the original Ra's story. Old timers remember that story started with Robin being shot or missing or both (my memory is fuzzy).
I am a Talia fan so intrigued to read this.

ABSOLUTE SUPERMAN #23
STORY: JASON AARON
ART: JUAN FERREYRA
COVER A: RAFA SANDOVAL
Superman's hunt for Brainiac brings him up against the Toyman, who may just be the most terrifying villain the Man of Steel has faced yet, and their confrontation will leave Superman shaken in ways he never thought possible!
ON SALE 9/2/26
An absolute Toyman! How extreme will he be? The most terrifying villain? We have seen Brainiac skin people and Black Adam ready to murder. So those better be some pretty killer toys.
Like that the art flips between Ferreyra and Sandoval on this book rather than random fill-ins. Brings a consistency to the proceedings.

COVER A: SCOTT GODLEWSKI
In the final chapter of the Book of El, Starchild and Red Son are reunited with the surviving heads of the House of El to save existence from a man driven beyond madness, to godhood, by grief. If Superman lives up to the legends, he'll find a way to save the universe from Kryl-Ux and save Kryl-Ux from himself. The heartrending, inspiring conclusion of Phillip Kennedy Johnson's vision for Kal-El.
ON SALE 9/2/26
And so the end of PKJ's time on Superman comes to an end.
I can't see any other ending other than the Otho and Osul staying in the future. I suppose that is better than them returning to present and being turned evil.
This has been a lore-laden book so hoping Johnson can bring it home.
LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #1

We get a new Legion book by a team I like.
Will this reboot take? How long has it been since we had a good and stable Legion book on the market?
I don't mind dystopia if the Legion are the light. Looks like a limited cast. Always funny to see how Matter-Eater Lad has become a stalwart on all takes.

I read JLU and have liked the book.
Included here only because Supergirl is on two of the variants. Hoping that means she is in the book.

Step into the Golden Age and witness the first adventures of Superman! During the day, Clark Kent does what he can to make ends meet in the bustling city of Metropolis, but when the sun goes down, he leaps into action to keep the city streets safe! As Superman, Clark fights for a better tomorrow, but he feels like he's not affecting change. The rich keep getting richer, and the poor struggle to survive. Can Superman truly save the downtrodden? The next Superman epic brought to you by superstar creator Wes Craig!
ON SALE 9/2/26
This looks like a Elseworld Golden Age Superman story. I only know Wes Craig from art in All-In Special and some Superman mini-series. So I feel this will be my first read of him as story teller.
We don't get a lot of early 30s Superman stories, even in Elseworlds, so I will give it a shot.

Hex Luthor?
Luthor looks like Ronan the Accuser here.
We saw young Lex in issue one so we must jump forward a ton in this book.

DARK KNIGHTS OF STEEL II #3
STORY: TOM TAYLOR
ART: OTTO SCHMIDT
COVER A: YASMINE PUTRI
With the House of El's queen, crown prince, and princess bedridden, Lois of Amazonia jailed, the Amazons expelled, and the threat beneath the waves growing with each passing day, Amanda Waller has everything to gain as she assumes emergency control of the Kingdom of El. Harley Quinn, the Els' advisor, must recruit to her cause a young Barbara Gordon, for the aid of her visions, and Dick Grayson, who's just about the only person who might stand a chance of finding the missing Prince Bruce. But even as our heroes gather in secret, they're about to discover that there isn't much a power-hungry Waller wouldn't do to cement her reign …
ON SALE 9/16/26
I liked the first series. I buy this to read the House of El members in this new world so sad to hear that they are laid out here.
Young Barbara and Dick Grayson in medieval time? Might be enough to keep my interest.
A busy month! New Legion!
