DC Comics December 2025 Solicits

The DC comics solicits for December came out recently and the winter looks good. Here is a link to the entire month's books:
https://aiptcomics.com/2025/09/19/full-december-2025-dc-comics-solicitations/

I still think the concept of DC K.O. makes little sense. Heroes fighting heroes is done. That said, I saw the bracket and filled one out like a college basketball conference sheet. I suppose I will be following, at least peripherally.

But the Supergirl solicits still make me smile and I am glad to see Kara in a couple of other places.

On to the books.

SUPERGIRL #8
Written by SOPHIE CAMPBELL
Art and cover by SOPHIE CAMPBELL
Variant covers by JAE LEE, TODD NAUCK, and MEGAN HUANG

Years ago, to protect her secret identity, a young Supergirl created a robot to pose as Linda Danvers while she ventured around the world saving the day. Now, after years of abandonment, this mechanical Maiden of Might has returned…in the name of vengeance! Can Kara make peace with the past before it destroys her present?

I think blog friend Mart Gray and I have wondered about the Linda Lee robot over the years so to see Sophie Campbell answer the question is fantastic. And these oddities happening in Midvale makes me think we are getting some sort of 'Chaos Stream' hijinks in the book.

Is this Supergirl-specific trip down continuity lane a hit for everyone? I'm not sure. But I hope so. This comic is a delight so far.
SUPERMAN #33
Written by JOSHUA WILLIAMSON
Art and cover by HAYDEN SHERMAN
Variant covers by KYUYONG EOM, SEBA FIUMARA, DAVID AJA, TULA LOTAY, and JORGE FORNÉS

DC K.O. All Fight Month, round 7 of 8!
A fight you never expected but are dying to see!

A brief solicit. Round 7 of 8 means we are deep into the bracket. The next fight is the final fight.

Is it Supes vs Lex as I anticipate? Will Lex win as I anticipate?

We shall see.
ACTION COMICS #1093
Written by MARK WAID
Art by SKYLAR PATRIDGE
Cover by RYAN SOOK
Variant covers by JORGE MOLINA and BENGAL

Sometimes the battles worth fighting are at home in Smallville and not in the big city of Metropolis. After a poor harvest, the future of Kent Farm is on the line. So what do you do when superpowers can’t solve your problems? Superboy is about to find out!

Can't he just wring diamonds out of coal? Find gold in the Amazon?

It will be interesting to see if Clark is tempted to do something nefarious (playing into Captain Comet's concern) or if some Pa Kent wisdom seeps in.
SUPERMAN UNLIMITED #8
Written by DAN SLOTT
Art by LUCAS MEYER
Cover by DAVE JOHNSON
Variant covers by GUILLEM MARCH, NATHAN SZERDY, ARIEL OLIVETTI, and GERARDO ZAFFINO

Thanks to Toyman’s Kryptonite generators, Earth is finally ready to mass-produce commercial faster-than-light rockets…for the planet’s richest one percent. And who wouldn’t want Earth’s multibillionaires traveling among the stars? Everyone. Every single being in the entire cosmos.
It’s up to Superman and special guest star Guy Gardner to save the launch of Simon Stagg’s new space yacht from one of the deadliest cosmic beings in the galaxy!

I don't think this book has been a smashing success for me. And delving into economic politics in a Superman book never bodes well. This sounds like a Jon Kent book written by Tom Taylor than a Superman book.

I also noticed that Rafael Alburquerque is off art this month, perhaps time to give him some lead time.

We shall see.
BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD’S FINEST #46
Written by MARK WAID
Art by ADRIÁN GUTIÉRREZ
Cover by DAN MORA
Variant covers by CHUMA HILL, ADRIÁN GUTIÉRREZ, and SEAN IZAAKSE

In order to defeat the Joker/Luthor team, Batman and Superman may have to ask for a little help from their friends—if they still have any after the shocking events of last issue! Don’t miss part two of “The Merger.”

Based on this variant cover, I am hoping the 'friends' are Catwoman and Supergirl. Waid writes Kara great in this book and the more we see her here, the better.

Looking forward to seeing Adrian Gutierrez's take on Supergirl.
ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN: BOOK OF EL #4
Written by PHILLIP KENNEDY JOHNSON
Art and cover by SCOTT GODLEWSKI
Variant covers by RAHZZAH, LUCIO PARRILLO, and SARAH BASLAIM

Ronan Kent has made his last stand to push back the deadly Brainiac invasion threatening all life as we know it…but the truth behind this attack is far darker than even the Man of Steel could possibly predict! The lawless Dark Age of the far future will chill the House of El to the bone in this epic next installment of Book of El!

It is hard to know what this all means because we are only one issue into this series and we don't know where it is going. I am glad Johnson is on the book. I like hearing Brainiac remains a threat. And wondering 'when' the Dark Age is ... post-Legion? Or between?
ABSOLUTE SUPERMAN #14
Written by JASON AARON
Art and cover by RAFA SANDOVAL
Variant covers by GERALD PAREL, ELIZABETH TORQUE, and NIKOLAS DRAPER-IVEY

It has all been leading to this. The final battle against Ra’s Al Ghul, for the fate of Smallville and the soul of Superman!

Fourteen issues in and finally the end of the first arc. Where do we go from here??

Anyways, you can't have a shirtless Ra's sword fighting in the rubble and not think of O'Neil and Adams' Batman run from the seventies.
JUSTICE LEAGUE VS. GODZILLA VS. KONG 2 #6
Written by BRIAN BUCCELLATO
Art and cover by CHRISTIAN DUCE
Variant covers by CARLO PAGULAYAN and ALAN QUAH
1:25 variant cover by KEVIN MAGUIRE

The Justice League mobilizes for the final showdown while King Ghidorah, Rodan, Scylla, and Behemoth make their moves. Meanwhile, down in Hollow Earth, Kong must face off against a Titanized…Cheetah?!

I have been enjoying this series so much. Love Supergirl front and center on what I think is a variant cover. Cheetah has been a fun side character in the book so glad she is getting the spotlight a bit.

It is too fun!

DC K.O.: SUPERMAN VS. [REDACTED] #1
Written by JOSHUA WILLIAMSON
Art by SEAN IZAAKSE
Cover by JORGE CORONA
Variant covers by JOHN GIANG, LUCAS MEYER, SANFORD GREENE, and SEAN IZAAKSE

DC K.O. All Fight Month, round 1 of 8!
A fight so explosive it you won’t want to miss it
!

The bracket is out so I think we all know he is fighting Giganta in the first round.

I don't know if DC expects people to shell out money for all the fights that they are parsing out into single issues. I don't think I will be getting any other solo issue outside this.
SUPERMAN: THE KRYPTONITE SPECTRUM #5
Written by W. MAXWELL PRINCE
Art and cover by MARTÍN MORAZZO
Variant covers by JUAN FERREYRA and ALEX ECKMAN-LAWN

What’s truly at the end of the rainbow? We can’t be certain, but we’re pretty sure it ain’t a pot of gold!
Up to now it’s been a peculiar, polychromatic pilgrimage for Superman: he’s lost track of time under the influence of Purple Kryptonite, grown to skyscraper size via Cobalt K, revisited his adolescence by way of Speckled K, and traveled to the fifth dimension using a “key” carved of Rainbow Rock.
Now, in this final issue, the chickens have come home to roost—and so, too, has Kal-El. Back in Metropolis, the Man of Tomorrow must stand face-to-face with the Man of Today…and decide for himself, finally, whether Lex is right: Does home hurt too much?

I have been reading this book but not reviewing. Perhaps I will do a bullet review of the whole series once it is done.

I get the sense it is trying to be intelligent and interesting but sometimes it comes across as trying to be 'too cute'. Some of the decisions make no sense, like purposefully exposing yourself to different Kryptonites. Obviously out of true continuity, I hope none of these other K's make their way into the main books.

Overall looks like a busy month. Supergirl and World's Finest stick out as the two I am most excited for.
