Some Odds And Ends

Just a few quick topics to cover, none big enough to warrant its own post.

We'll start out with the apparent return of corner boxes to DC Superman related comic book covers. (Maybe it'll be for all books?) Of course, they are more well known with Marvel's books in the Bronze Age. But this is a pretty cool.

It looks like Dan Mora is doing all of them, visible here on his Instagram.

That is one great image of Supergirl!

I love the return of cover corner boxes!

But wait ... there's more!
Seen on social media, here are some new JLA membership cards including Supergirl's.

Pretty interesting to see her equal to Wonder Woman in pure strength. Pretty cool that DC is doing this!

I really liked the Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong mini-series. Supergirl definitely had a great role to play there. When the sequel was announced, I hoped we would see her have as big a part.

It is no guarantee but in Instagram DCOfficial had a little one minute trailer for the book with some shots of panels. Supergirl had to be in half of them. This made me very very happy. I hope we get more Kong and Supergirl interaction.

One thing that happens when people learn you are an avid fan of something niche ... like Supergirl ... is that when friends see something, they'll get it for you if they can.

My friend is a big fan of table top games and goes to gaming stores and shows. At some show, he saw a table giving away sample cards for a DC collectible card game. The sample set included a Supergirl card so he grabbed the pack for me.

I have no idea how to play this game. (I played a lot of MTG back in the day but haven't played in years.)

But I love that this is a Supergirl linked to Crisis on Infinite Earths, showing the undying impact of that event. Seriously, I doubt you'll see cards labeled Final Crisis or Forever Evil.

And I really like that her ability here is Iron Will. Perfect.

I also was given this, card sleeves adorned with Supergirl.

I suppose if I start to play MTG again I'll be ready.

But how cool that this even exists? A Supergirl set of card sleeves?

Insanity.

If the picture looks familiar it was originally on Supergirl #12 by Artgerm.

Always thankful for the generosity of friends.

And love that corner box by Mora!

But why is Diana Universal and Kara is just Global? Kara can survive unaided in space and has access to the multiverse.

I hope Supergirl has some good moments in the Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong book. It was cool seeing that trailer with what looks to be the super cousins teaming up.

Also, it looks like there will be a DC SuperHero Girls High School Reunion book coming out soon:

I thought that cartoon series was fun and featured a lot of Supergirl stories.

Looking forward to reading your Supergirl #1 review!
