The supergirls had a great time and my wife was pretty happy with everything I got her. We also were able to spend time with family and friends.
Now as for me, I raked in some loot including Iron Man, Dark Knight, and the first season of The Big Bang Theory on DVD.
I also got the Infinite Heroes three-pack of figures including Superman, Wonder Girl, and Supergirl as seen above center. Okay, I admit I bought it for myself as a Christmas gift. But she does make a nice new piece to the shrine.
Perhaps the most shocking goodie was this limited edition Barbie Supergirl.
First off, I did not even know that this existed.
But the most surprising thing? This was a gift from my wife. Mrs. Anj has never quite understood my fascination with Supergirl but she has always sort of tolerated it. To get this addition to the shrine from my loving wife was a gift in itself, a sort of reminder of why I love her so much. She gets me ... and that's wonderful.
This doll will have a nice spot next to the deluxe one coming out in February.

That's a pretty sweet gift. I usually hate Barbies, particularly the superhero ones, but that Kara looks pretty cool.
You're not at freaky as Paul Dini who actually married his comic heroine Zatanna when he tied the knot with magician Misty Lee!
I had no supergirl goodies under the tree but in January I'll buy myself the new Showcase collection. I was also thinking about getting the DCVault but haven't seen any reviews. I've also been thinking about the Legion showcases which I've held off on for two reasons 1) no colour in a book where differing skin/hair colours went some way to distinguishing characters 2)knowing which ones have Supergirl content
Truly glad to hear you got SOME of the your wish list items in the end , Anj! :D
I got Smallville Season 7 (U.S.A. format edition) that I've had for just a tad wee while now (as it was always intended to be my birthday/Xmas present it one from my Mom), God of War II on PS3 (given to me by my bro. Man I just LOVE anything Greek Mythology wise), a Superman themed T shirt although his pic was cut and pasted in each individual letters intending to spell out "Superman" till it formed some kind of intended put together pic of Superman (given from grand parents) oh and I got the actual "Limited Edition" The Dark Knight DVD box set which surprisingly included a size "L" Joker T shirt in it ta boot! (Given to me by a some relatives)

He did WHA?!? OMG are you serious?? :/

Truly sorry to hear this being the sad circumstance, Nikki.
but in January I'll buy myself the new Showcase collection.
Me too actually! :D

Hmmm, nor I come to think of it. :/

UGH tell me bout it ah. *Sighs*

Hmmm, I think I might just be able to be of some help there. I know the trade that was intended to celebrate the Legions milestone anniversary this year (sorry unfortunately can't quite recall the exact name of trade here) DEFINITELY has Supergirl in it for sure! (And it's even the "red hot pants" era Supergirl too! :D)
Apart from that specific trade and The Great Darkness Saga other they're the only 2 Legion themed trades that guest star Supergirl in 'em and are fully COLORED at that. :/
The best Supergirl related gift I got this year was seeing Sterling Gates make Newsarama's list of "Nine creators to watch in 2009" specifically for her work on SG's solo book.
And,...Kara herself therefore made their list of "Nine characters to watch in 2009"....
I'vew only waited the better part of a quarter century for comic-dom to catch up with what I knew all along:
KARA RAWKS!
It is a good feeling.
ALL POWER TO THE KARA SOVIETS
NO SUPERMAN WITHOUT SUPERGIRL
TOMORROW BELONGS TO SHE!!

I highly recommend it. There is no better bargain in comics.
And it includes a lot of great early stories as Kara gets introduced to the world.

I agree completely.
But this one is well done with a very intricately crafted costume.
A very nice piece.

You;ll need to tell me if the Supergirl documentary is good. I have been on the fence about buying the set.

I hope Jamal Igle is honored as well on Newsarama.

Good? HELL YEAH! Dude it has the ever hot Helen Slater for the very first time talking in depth about the movie that kicked off her career as well as such insights from Paul Levitz (he actually praises Helen Slater for the part where we see Supergirl first appearing on the roof of the fast food joint and surveys all the commotion Selena is causing by that tractor carrying Ethan!), Gail Simone and (I think) Dan DiDio! It also has a female narrator introducing the audience to Supergirl's very first origin all the way through to the current Post-COIE/IC DCU continuity Kara Zor-El/Supergirl 'Candor' trade! (Remember this came out BEFORE Pucket's run was collected in Beyond Good and Evil latest trade out at the time here.)

Thanks for the post.
Hmmm ... maybe I have some post-holiday shopping to do.
