We'll get to the super-titles soon but I have to point out a couple of non-Super solicits. One is the Titans Annual 2025. Written and drawn by Phil Jimenez, it will focus on Donna Troy's origin! Again! Maybe we'll get something to stick this time!
There are a couple of new DC Finest digests for sale as well. One based on the Spectre including but not limited to the classic Fleischer/Aparo stuff/ The other is a horror anthology with books pulled from all over.

Kara and the daughter of Lex Luthor, Lena, have come together to battle a common enemy posing as Midvale’s very own Supergirl! Will Lena’s brains and Kara’s brawn be a match for the super-powered super-genius from Kandor? It’s Supergirl versus Supergirl in a fight for the ages! Plus, the debut of Satan Girl!
So I have been pretty optimistic about the solicits for this title so far but this one has made me very optimistic. I have been waiting to get a creator on Supergirl who seems to know and like the character. Sophie Campbell has Kara teaming up with Lena to fight Lesla Lar. That feels like knowledge and liking.

Legends collide as the Man of Steel goes supersized for the Summer of Superman! In this all-new treasury edition, quintessential Superman writer Dan Jurgens pairs with the modern master of sequential art, Bruno Redondo, to craft a larger-than-life story of power, tragedy, action, and, above all—hope. When a vicious armada of extraterrestrial extremists launches an all-out invasion of Planet Earth, only Superman can stand in the way of total annihilation. But there’s something different about this attack—it’s deadly from both without…and within? It’s a tale so titanic we had to tell it at treasury size to celebrate the Summer of Superman in style! Featuring images and info from the brand-new Superman movie, plus a special photo variant cover!
A new Treasury! By Dan Jurgens! And Bruno Redondo!!
I am pretty pumped at all the great super-books coming out though. On to those details!

But Satan Girl !?!
Now that is a great part of Supergirl's history in all her incarnations! So Campbell bringing it back shows me that she has a grasp of the character and wants to lean into her history. Can't wait to read the book!
On to the rest of the books.

Since the start of All In, Darkseid’s Legion has stalked the DC Universe. And now they finally attack Superman! What is this Legion’s deadly mission and how does it kick off the next phase of All In?! Don’t miss out on this crucial issue that sets up a massive event for Superman and the DC Universe!
I'm a Legion fan. I have always assumed that Darkseid's Legion is from the Absolute Earth. So I do hope that means a main Earth Legion is around the corner. Can't wait to see Dan Mora's work on even a warped Legion.

A lot can change in a summer, especially for Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superboy. After a disastrous debut in Metropolis, the Kents are worried that the world is not ready for their son and will do whatever it takes to protect him. Little do they know, they’re about to send him to one of the most terrifying places on the planet…Smallville High!
I am rather excited on getting a 'Superman as a boy' character back in DC continuity. It will be interesting to see if Mark Waid is able to keep up the suspense. We know that eventually he is Superman so nothing too incredible can happen in the series. But nerdy Clark trying to find his way around high school should be fun. And Patridge has a good style for a Smallville based book.

When the towering terror of Toyman once again terrorizes the streets of Metropolis, Superman and Krypto are on hand to save the day—but in this new world of Kryptonite, even the murdering machinations of Toyman are supercharged with Superman’s Achilles’ heel! It’s a twisted turn of events as the Man of Steel uncovers a game-changing new use for this deadly substance, and it has the capacity to…save the world? Plus: Jimmy Olsen moves to Gotham (careful, Jimmy), Tee-Nah of Gorilla City tries to fix Steve Lombard’s laptop (careful, Tee-Nah), and Intergang floods the streets—all in the latest installment of the emerald epic you’ll have to read to believe!
I hope this Kryptonite Everywhere arc keeps me interested. Bringing in a diabolical Toyman is a good way to keep me reading. And it sounds like Slott is going to keep the supporting cast busy.

This almost feels like another done-in-one for this book. If this was a new arc, I think we'd hear it.

If anything, I hope Waid sets the standard for what is Bizarro speak. Complete opposite. Funny word play? A little of both? It should be fun to see what Adrian Gutierrez does with the Bizarro World. Especially given Gutierrez's interesting use of fonts and words in the art.

The mysterious Omega Men have chased the Superman around the world, determined to plead their case: that only with his help and by unleashing the full scope of his terrifying power can they put an end to the Lazarus Corporation. And with anger burning in his heart, Kal is starting to listen…
At least in the early arc, Jason Aaron seemed to be showing us that both the Omega Men and the Lazarus Project aren't nice people. Neither are 'good guys' in a Darkseid-fueled universe. So I am hoping Superman doesn't fall for this trap.

Krypto, the last dog of Krypton, has landed on an alien world called “Earth” after his shuttle test went catastrophically wrong. Krypto wanders into a city, scared and hurt…But this lost dog has found someone to take care of him. A young man: troubled, unkind, but ambitious. Krypto just wants to be loved, but that may not be something this boy is capable of. Krypto may be the first to suffer at the hands…of Lex Luthor!
Lovely cover by Jae Lee, giving this an air of respectability. This solicit sounds like 'Krypto Year One'. Is this a flashback series? I hope we don't get too much Luthor in his back story. I like my Krypto pure.

The whole Super-Family is hitting the road in a series of action-packed adventures across the great state of California. Supergirl’s day at the beach is interrupted by a demonic creature from the deep and John Constantine! Jon and Conner Kent team up to wrangle an escaped beast in the Redwoods! Bizarro (literally) crashes an audition for a major motion picture! And join Superman and Lois as a kaiju from the California Ocean comes for their family vacation! The Summer of Superman is heating up, so slather on some sunscreen and snag your latest beach read—in stores this July!
Nothing like an unexpected treat in the solicits. These holiday special books are usually expensive and filled with new talent given a shot. But there are plenty of recognizable names here. I hope ... and I mean HOPE ... Bryan Q. Miller is writing the Supergirl story. I loved his stuff on Batgirl and Smallville.

The DC Universe as we know it begins to take shape as a mysterious ship crash-lands in Smallville, and years later, Superman makes his debut. Meanwhile, in Gotham City, Batman emerges from the shadows to clean its crime-ridden streets, and after years of isolation from Man’s World, Wonder Woman leaves the paradise of Themyscira for modern society. A new age of heroes dawns as Barry Allen recounts the formation of the Justice League through the events up to and leading to his death during the Crisis on Infinite Earths!
While not a specific Super book, I have to promote this New History miniseries.

This one is Silver and Bronze age specific. I mean, look at that Supergirl on Comet in the upper right hand corner!
But this one also goes through the Crisis. Will we hear of a Supergirl sacrifice? Did the Crisis still happen?

Quite a month. Truly it feels like the Summer of Superman!

I know I am intrigued....JF
I've been uninterested in Absolute everything (maybe I'll try Martian Manhunter) and Eeeevil Legion is high on the list. Since the Bendis' Legion failed, it could even be the only Legion some readers have ever seen and that rankles.
I noticed that John Constantine will be in the Supergirl story in the Kal-El-Fornia Love special. If this were the seventies, Cary Bates would make him her latest jerk/criminal/deceitful boyfriend, the moreso because Constantine easily fills all three of those categories. Fortunately, this story will be written by a writer too young to have read any Cary Bates Supergirl, so I hold out hope that in spite of the Love in the title, Supergirl will show better taste this time. Maybe Kara will even get to throw a few zingers at the loser from Liverpool.
Thanks for posting about this. I was curious to learn what you thought about the return of Satan Girl to the modern DCU, and you made some good points about her appearances in the other titles. Personally, the highlight for me from all of this was seeing the Supertwins on the cover for the Kal El Fornia Love Special. They really don't get enough attention from DC's creative staff relative to their narrative potential, so I hope their inclusion on that cover is an indication that they'll show up in at least one of the stories from that anthology. On a related note, I'm curious to learn what you think about the solicit from the end of the Summer of Superman Special for the Book of El series heralding Philip Kennedy Johnson's return to writing Superman comics. For me at least that's been the most welcome comics related news for 2025 so far, so as somebody who both finds your thoughts far better put than the average comics commentator and generally agreed with your judgement of PKJ's run on Action Comics, I'm curious whether you think there's a good chance he can make lightning strike twice with this new series.
