Superman/Batman Annual #5 And Reign Of Doomsday

The source blog released a couple of images last week of upcoming issues of the Reign of Doomsday storylines. Here is the link:

And here is the blurb and the cover.

As announced earlier this week, the Reign of Doomsday story will continue through SUPERMAN/BATMAN ANNUAL #5, as Supergirl must team up with Batman to try to stop Doomsday and Cyborg Superman from tearing them apart. The issue will hit in early April, written by James Robinson with art by Miguel Sepulveda.

So it looks like Supergirl's part of the Reign of Doomsday will be in the Superman/Batman Annual as well as Justice League. I guess that the Spencer/Peaty storyline makes a crossover in her own title difficult.

The cover might add some clues to the arc. The fact that Cyborg Superman's face is the Watchtower satellite makes me wonder if he is the big bad somehow controlling Doomsday. But wasn't he just lobotomized and captured in Green Lantern Corps?

I don't think I know Sepulveda's art style but the cover is nice.

And the Supergirl portion of the cover is worth a closer look.

First off, she doesn't appear to be Dark Supergirl here. Hopefully that's a good sign that this 'dark' exploration is wrapping up, or at least not how she is portrayed 100% of the time here.

And secondly, I am sure it is a coloring error, but I love the red skirt look.

The Superboy #6 cover, also seen on the Source, is really fantastic with a truly frightening Doomsday.

Steel #1 wasn't a jaw-dropping opening for this arc so hopefully it improves as it progresses.

How many times are they going to have this coloring error?

Change the costume already!

Off topic.... Sent DC a letter regarding Linda Danvers.. I hope they don't glaze over it like they did with Yota...I'll be ticked if they do that.

BTW, here's a twitition for ya and other Linda Danvers fans to sign!
