David Mack Variant On Justice League Of America #45
I know that in the past year or so I have trumpeted how this is a great time to be a Supergirl fan. In fact, with a thriving solo title, an actual presence in the DCU and a major role in the massive current Superman story arc, and the success of mini-series she has starred in like Cosmic Adventures and Cry For Justice, you might say it is the best time to be a Supergirl fan.
Just when I think it can't get any better, I see a goodie like this. Yes, we all knew Supergirl was going to star in Justice League of America (yet another reason it is a good time to be a fan). But look at this David Mack variant cover for next week's cover as shown over on The Source (link: http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2010/05/12/brightest-day-continues-in-justice-league-of-america-45/ ).
Now that is spectacular! That could be on a poster or t-shirt. In fact, there have been an embarrassment of tremendous Supergirl covers over the last 2 years. But this one is just unbelievably fantastic.
If you had asked me 3 years ago if I thought that Supergirl would ever be popular enough to be a star in JLA and get her own variant cover by someone of the calibre of David Mack, I would have unequivocally said no. My how things change! It is a great time to be a Supergirl fan. It makes old-timers like me happy!

Wow this cover is gorgeous, i couldn't stop staring at. I wish this was the actual cover of the comic. She looks so powerful and beautiful. I read the preview, JLA is going to be great.
ARGH! I'm seriously torn as to exactly which JLA cover featuring Supergirl I should get now! lol! I was really wanting to buy the "Supergirl vs. Power Girl" one (mostly due to Supergirl sporting her more world famous and more iconicaly recognised RED colored scheme skirt instead of the blue) but the variant is just as captivating to the naked eye there too! Oh what to do? lol! :-P
is this the first jla one she's been in? recently I mean. i'll def be getting that variant cover.

Yes ... she joins the team this issue.
Wow! Great looking cover!
I'm not keen, too sultry!
I belatedly discovered this gobsmackingly gorgeous cover only recently. It's absolutely breathtaking, one of the more heartstoppingly beautiful images of Kara ever created. (Mack's Dark Supergirl variant for "Justice League of America" #52 is of comparably amazing quality.) Really wish there were a poster or print available.
