Congratulations to frequent poster and friend Yota for having a question recognized by Dan Didio in his '20 questions' series on Newsarama ( http://www.newsarama.com/common/media/video/player.php?aid=29566 )!!
Yota has been asking the question 'Where is Linda Danvers?' each time Rama asks for questions. More importantly, she has asked the bigger question 'why bring her back horribly in Reign in Hell?' A lot of us have wanted these questions answered so at least Didio acknowledged your persistence and the fans who recommended it.
Sorry that Didio didn't answer it. But it reminded me of the famous Gandhi quote "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."
We passed ignore and are in laugh. Halfway home!!
Thanks again Yota!

omg! he just brushed over the question, why have it in the list if your just gonna glaze over it?
do they hate her that much at dc that they wont even speak of her.....
or do they have something planned for her better and more suited to her then reign in hell...
either way i dont care, i hate the way they treated her.
Kudos Yota for your persistence!
I hope someone asks Didio again about Linda Danvers this week at the Comic Con. I myself have asked several times at Newsarama about future issues of Cosmic Adventures without result. I hope someone asks DC about that too in San Diego.
Yes! Good job Yota. The question was asked of Geoff Johns in a recent interview over at Comic Book Resources and he hinted that Sterling Gates may do something with her. I really hope he wasn't joking.
But Didio was the one who said she was wiped out of continuity during Infinite Crisis at first, so I get the feeling he doesn't like her (cause he doesn't seem to like any characters created after 1980) but at least we have Johns on our side!
I love Linda Danvers as much as the rest of you all and agree her character's departure at the end of Peter David's "Supergirl" series should have been left alone and not completely disrespected as it was in "Reign in Hell."
However, now that we have Kara's Linda Lang identity with other DC heroes now even referring to Kara as Linda, having Linda Danvers around would be redundant and not really make sense.
Jason...I don't want Linda Danvers to be a permanent member of Supergirl's supporting cast but they should at least meet and Kara should acknowledge that Linda was the original Supergirl in current continuity.
Who said two people can't be named Linda?
My sincerest congrats to you Yota on getting this through to Dan! Well done mate! Now give us some more of your art over on deviantART will ya! I JOKE! I JOKE! ;)

Wow, I've been out of the loop for a few weeks, and this came as a surprise.... I was sure shocked and awed and super excited until I found out that he totally ignored my damned question.... I'm just going to have to keep badgering him, I guess....
He has made a powerful enemy this, he laughed at my name before he didn't answer my question (and it's a Star Wars, Didio, you douchebag, it's my friggin' name, so don't get all excited....).
Whoa, that second paragraph somehow got mangled in posting. It should read:
"He has made a powerful enemy this day, and not just because he laughed at my name before he didn't answer my question (and it's not a Star Wars reference, Didio, you douchebag, it's my friggin' name, so don't get all excited....)."
Weird.

Thanks for posting.
That's the thing ... he didn't ignore it. He answered it with a lame sort of jokey dismissal.
I am telling you ... first they ignore, then they laugh ... next comes a fight.
Then victory.
Well, then, I shall fight until I am victorious!
;)

Hey! If nagging him doesn't work then If I get to go to the next NYCC, then I'm gonna do a "Fangirl Blues" skit with me as Linda.
Message to fangirls and fanboys of DC: be warned for some fangirl ranting about the character. I'm goona title it "Linda Danvers, where are you?"

Maybe Didio just doesn't want to bring back a MURDERING SATAN WORSHIPPER into a mainstream comic like an "S" book! That's what Linda Danvers was, after all.
And, yes I know Linda's story...Matrix, Buzz, Earth Angel, Carnivore, Twilight, Lilith, Kara Zor-El, Xenon, and so on....but maybe Didio just doesn't wanna go there.
Linda Danvers and her friends murdered two people out in the woods in what was most likely a Satanic ritual. She laughed afterwords. They even took Polaroids of the event (Where did those pictures go, anyway?) Rant all you want about redemption, but she never confessed to the crime, even after she split from her Matrix/Angel aspect.
Didio might not want to open that can of worms.
"Linda Danvers and her friends murdered two people out in the woods in what was most likely a Satanic ritual. She laughed afterwords."
Wasn't she drinking alcohol, though?

i'm guessing the pics got deleted or maybe they're surfing around in Limbo, somewhere.

"either way i dont care, i hate the way they treated her."
She's been treated right how Kara Zor-El was treated. I'm sorry for Linda because the character deserved better, but I'm not sorry for the group of vocal, obnoxious fans who built Linda up by putting Kara down, were happy that Kara was killed off and retconned out and justified DC's mistreating her.
"so I get the feeling he doesn't like her (cause he doesn't seem to like any characters created after 1980)"
Dan Didio couldn't care less for Silver/Bronze Age characters. He's partial to what he believes to be more profitable.
Given that Kara Zor-El has starred in series, movies, cartoons, video games and her own show whereas Linda still has to make a mainstream appearance (well, maybe she was a secret character in a PSP game, but I'm not certain) you'd be hard-pressed to not acknowledge he was right.
"However, now that we have Kara's Linda Lang identity with other DC heroes now even referring to Kara as Linda, having Linda Danvers around would be redundant and not really make sense."
DC's position, most likely. They published Linda's book because they needed to keep a Supergirl around. Now Kara Zor-El is back, maybe they think they don't need a second Supergirl.

And yet those who hate Kara will claim they despise her because she's unlikeable. Right.
