Supergirl #50 ranked 48th among comics selling 33,338 issues. That is an increase of 20% from issue #49. It also is the highest amount sold since issue #44, the beginning of Codename:Patriot.
It also outsold every one of the Superman titles, which creeped in right behind.
Of course, this issue had a lot going for it to spur sales up a bit.
It was the magical number fifty. It had a Michael Turner cover. It had a variant cover by Josh Middleton. It had a story co-written by Helen Slater.
There was a lot of publicity and buzz around this. Hopefully some of the folks who tried out the issue will stick around for the future.
As for R.E.B.E.L.S. #13, it continued to dive in sales after the Blackest Night bump.
The penultimate issue of the Starro saga sold 11,836.
My guess is their might not be any middle ground with the book. You either love it or not. There might not be a 'I like REBELS' crowd. Anyways, I look forward to see what happens post-Starro. I will review the last chapter of that story soon.
