Kara Returns To Smallville

As reported lots of places, and first seen over on the Kryptonsite website,. the Laura Vandervoort Kara returns to Smallville on November 6th. Here is the official synopsis of the episode titled 'Bloodlines'.

KARA RETURNS — Clark receives an anonymous package containing the crystal that Tess (Cassidy Freeman) found in the Arctic. When he removes the crystal, it activates and sends him and a visiting Lois (Erica Durance) to the Phantom Zone where they run into Kara (guest star Laura Vandervoort). Kara opens a portal for Lois to return but Zod’s wife Faora escapes with her and takes over Lois’ body. A possessed Lois goes on a rampage in Metropolis.

This doesn't sound 100% promising for a fitting conclusion to the Kara storyline. In fact, since they do not say that she leaves the PZ, I have to assume she will stay stuck there. Or, perhaps most consistent with the show, there will be a way for one person to escape the zone and Kara will let Clark escape since he is 'destined for greatness.'

The writers have just never seemed to know what to do with Kara on the show, especially given the fact she had a stronger personality than the perpetually sulking Clark. And when they shot her into the Phantom Zone last season, I only shrugged. They couldn't have people compare her to Clark and find the star of the show lacking. So they simply wrote her out.

I guess I should be happy that they have decided to put some capstone on her story. But I fear I will once again be disappointed.

I truly and thoroughly hate hate HATE with a fiery passion the 3 PTB on "Smallville"! UGH! Why? Because it was apparently THEM that didn't want Kara in the show and NOT Miles or Gough (as I had originally thought) which apparently lead to both wanting to leave the show due to it NOT going the way they had truly envisioned/intended it to. Hell, there were even talks of a Supergirl spin-off supposedly titled "Midvalle" in accordance to Ms. Vandervoort herself that unfortunately didn't come to pass in the end because of the whole changing of the guard on the main show it would've spun out off here and there strong dislike for Kara in general! Those m*censored*! UGH! *Shakes head in utter disgust*

You're right anj, they're only doing this as not to alienate her existing fanbase that bit more (Smallville Kara fans) and when it comes to Kara in general they truly have no clue as to what to do with her being included in their show's mythos. (Here's a clue, LET HER JOIN THE LEGION YOU FRICKIN' TWITS! UGH! IDIOTS!!!)

Sorry, i just had to vent.

Thanks for the post.

The Legion idea is an intriguing one since they appear in an episode later this season.

We'll have to see.

WHY should I watch a show that treats me as a fan with such palpable disrespect?

Ask yourself that question as the broadcast draws nearer.

I understand your feelings.

But I keep holding out hope that they will do her right.
