Supergirl Does Her Part To Save Siegel House

Last week I talked about Brad Metzler's efforts to save Jerry Siegel's home including great items being put up on Ebay.

The EBay auction for the Frank Cho Supergirl ended with the winning bid being $7500!!

Auctions are going up weekly and this item garnered about 5 times the money as anything else put up in week 3. Supergirl fans are sooo generous!

An nice Amanda Conner piece of Supergirl, Power Girl, and Superman also brought in a nice amount, $1081.

Again, the link to donate and help save the Siegel home is http://www.ordinarypeoplechangetheworld.com/

Aww, Conner's Supergirl is adorable. I like her Powergirl too, especially the boots. I've actually seen women wearing boots like that. No one has worn those floppy-top boots since the 17th century, and I despise them on superhero costumes.

(by floppy-top boots I meant the "Musketeer" boots that she originally wore. See also: Captain America. Just wanted to be clear)

Thanks for the post.

I like that pic a lot too. Everyone looks happy and familial. I would love to have a Conner commission in my collection.

This sounds like a really great cause!

Wow, I really love the piece by Frank Cho! His Kara looks so strong, confident, and she seems to have a great sense of humor. I remember his excellent work from Liberty Meadows.

And the Amanda Conner piece looks wonderful too! I wish she could have portrayed Kara like this in the issue she did (I think it was issue 12 or so). Kara looks beautiful, strong, and spunky! And I love that Amanda used the Matrix costume!

I really like how Conner contrasted the Supergirl from Power Girl. You are right ... spunky is a great term. She has youthful joy just oozing from her.

Oh 100% fully agreement ith, anj! Only, I just wish she hadn't have added in the red loops from the skirt come the belt (man how I seriously hate that) and then having the colorist go for red "M" cut boots design trim instead of the yellowish/gold one.

Either then those 2 minor things, still lovin' it! :D
