For some time now I have talked up Mike Maihack and his wonderful take on the Batgirl/Supergirl relationship. It is always a treat when Maihack creates new content for my favorite World's Finest duo!
For the month of #inktober Maihack has promised a new small sketch of Supergirl or Batgirl or both!
What a sweet treat for this Halloween month.
We are early so I only have a couple of pics to share but they are standard Maihack awesome.
Here is a trick-or-treat scene with Kara in a spooktacular costume.
And here are our two friends fishing.
Of course Kara snags the king of the waters.
And then this one, my favorite of his posts so far.
Just our Supergirl dancing to the beat.
I keep hoping to one day run into Maihack at a show so I can get a commission for myself.
But I do know I will be more diligently checking out his sites to see the latest addition to the October slate.

These are wonderful! Someone should run a caption contest.
What a great surprise! Not just a holiday comic, but there will be 31 little vignettes. Fantastic.
Maihack captures the odd couple dynamic: The brilliant Batgirl is perpetually tormented by her good-hearted and well-meaning, but utterly clueless, best friend Supergirl.

Hello from a french fan of supergirl,
A great surprise from Maihack,it's the event calendar for halloween
I follows an anthor writer :Sarah Leuver. She retweet a message from Sterling Gates, i quote :"
At SDCC last year, I approached a bunch of DC execs I know and asked if they were going to celebrate Supergirl's 60th. A comic, a book, a video, a blog post, anything.
One of them looked me square in the eye and said, "Well, she's got a tv show. That's celebration enough."
I thinks i preferred not to know this truth ... but i'am happy tosse people still make supergirl live despite all this.
These are always gems!
Have these Mike Maihack Supergirl/Batgirl strips ever been collected in a book? If not, they should be.
There was a follow up to that tweet by Sterling Gates the day before yesterday:
"What made it all the more frustrating is when I pointed out it was SG's 60th anniversary, no exec seemed to realize that. One exec said 'Geez, she's that old?'"
Good Grief!
In an interview from a few days ago, Dan DiDio talks a bit about bringing Paul Levitz the idea of bringing back Kara Zor-El, and then working with Jeff Loeb to convince a reluctant Michael Turner to draw it.
I didn't know the story, and It's quite interesting.
The interview is at

The story about Supergirl starts at the 24:23 mark.

Maihack does great work. I wish DC would hire him to do a series of these or even just collect all his stuff into a GN format and publish it. It's great all ages content and we need Supergirl right now more than ever and I mean this one. Smiling and kind not dark and brooding.
These are nice and if trends continue it'll literally be the only Supergirl we'll be getting at all.
