It's hard to believe it but it was a year ago today that I posted my Jim Mooney commission and focused this blog on Supergirl.
At the time I thought this would be a mental exercise, a way to clear out some comics cobwebs in my mind, 'putting them down on paper' as it were. I never expected anyone else to be interested in what I had to say about something I felt was a niche fascination in comics - Supergirl.
Suffice it to say it has been a great year. I have had a blast writing and reviewing.
And I feel like I have made a lot of new friends here. It has been great to hear so much from so many Supergirl fans out there. I cannot thank enough all the 'regulars' who stop by here and post. I would list you all but I would be afraid I would forget somebody if I tried. The conversations here have been great and I feel I have learned so much about Supergirl and comics in general from everyone. Thanks again!
I would really like to thank the comic professionals who have posted here as well - Landry Walker, Jamal Igle, Jimmy Palmiotti, and Sterling Gates. It is great for fans to know that the writers and artists care about our opinions.
Now that I am starting my second year, I figured it was time to do a little house keeping on the site as well.
First off, you may have noticed the new banner bar at the top. My thanks to good friend Jeff Caporizzo for help with the design. I tried to include images from key moments or times in Supergirl's history. Jeff has a great blog of his own talking about his creative process and observations as an artist. Thanks again Jeff!
Secondly, I have decided to add a new blog roll on the side outside of the professional sites I have linked to in the past. This new area is to promote the blogs and sites of all you folks who come here. I feel like a heel for not promoting other blogs and sites. If I have forgotten to add your blog please drop me a line so I can add you!
This next year seems like a busy one for Supergirl so I will try to continue blogging as much as I have and (hopefully) continue to improve the site. I promise to have some retrospective comprehensive look at the Superwoman mystery now that we know Lucy was under the cowl.
Thanks again and see you all soon!
