Todd Nauck Commission

I went to a great little convention this last weekend in Northern Massachusetts sponsored by Larry's Wonderful World of Comics (http://larryscomics.net/).

The main guest was Todd Nauck of Young Justice and Spiderman fame. Above is the commission I got him to do for me. I knew his slightly manga-y style would make for a great commission and I was right.

Nauck was a great guy, easily approachable and easy going. I saw him taking the time to talk to some of the younger kids who were there and that is great.

As for the convention, there were also a lot of local artists present and a lot of dealers as well. Since I was only aiming for a commission from Nauck, I had time to really thumb through all the dealers there and found a few gems. It looks like this show might happen every couple of months so I will definitely put it on my radar.

One issue I could not find that I was hoping to see was Young Justice #13, a rare Peter David Linda Danvers cross-over issue I don't own. It would have been cool to find it and have it signed by Nauck. No such luck.

  1. I Know! It would've been cool to get YJ #13 and signed by the artist....

then again, you could always catch him at a nother convention and get the issue online.

  3. I think Young Justice #13 is the only issue wherein the guest star gets to take over the inner monologue boxes... I think Supergirl was PAD's favourite over the YJ kids, personally...

    P.S.
Despite my question in the top five recommended questions, Didio did not answer my question (mostly because Newsarama didn't ask it); this 20 questions thing was cool at first, but lately it just seems like a schtick to promote DC books and bumps their meager sales. Yeah, maybe I'm a little bit bitter when it comes to my comics...

    .

    Thanks for the posts.

I thought (foolishly) that I would be able to find it at the con that I didn't think to purchase on-line beforehand.

Live and learn. I keep looking for it and buy it on line if I am going to see Nauck sooner.

Thanks for the post. Ceratinly if you hear PAD talk he has a great love for the character. You should read his intro in the Many Happy Returns trade - it comes through there too.

    I saw and was displeased.

Of course Didio wanted to erase her from continuity so it might be a touchy subject.

  6. Great sketch :).

    Thanks!

I thought his style would really make for a great Kara and I was so pleased with the result.

He didn't answer my question about any future issues of Cosmic Adventures either. With Landry Walker and Eric Jones now working on Batman Brave and the Bold, I guess it might be awhile. Still, I am glad that DC is still using their talent.

I have read it; it's very touching, and made me mourn the end of the series that much more.... Meanwhile, I still want to read his treatment for "Blonde Justice," if only he'd post it somewhere.

Also, I really do think that his not answering my question was pure bollocks, and that 20 Answers is just pandering to Didio's ego and hyping up DC titles in an effort to boost dwindling sales (just ignore the fact that I'm shaking my fist angrily as I write this).
