This marks the first chapter in the 'Who is Superwoman?' arc so we'll have to see if new clues change people's thoughts about who is under the cowl. We'll also hear from Sterling Gates on the topic soon as Newsarama called for guesses last week - I saw a lot of the guesses we had here.
Even from the first couple of pages, we are given lots of information to ponder. Here are just 2 pages.
Well, for one thing we know that Superwoman is on New Krypton. Since she offed Agent Liberty on Earth after New Krypton was formed and is now on NK, it is safe to say she can travel through space.
She also implies she is of the House of El since she says 'my family' as she strokes the S-shield.
These two things should eliminate Lana, Cat, Thara, and Karsta from the mix of candidates. But who knows?
It also is apparent she is working for General Lane, although it may be more that he is blackmailing her. Superwoman says that Lane knows how to exploit Kryptonian's weaknesses as we see him whisper in her ear 'I know who you are'. There is a panel with Superwoman standing before him in what must be the Cadmus bunker. For some reason this makes me think that she was there, may be imprisoned or engineered, rather than in Kandor on Brainiac's ship.
I am excited about this story. Nothing like a good comic mystery. Heck, it's why I am actually reading about the Red Hulk (please no laughing).
Hmmmm .... should I run another 'Who is Superwoman?' poll once we get more clues?

There are 2 possibilities, maybe she's actually Lara-El Superman's actual biological mother that some whow managed to survive Krypton's explosion or what if she's Jor-El and Zor-El's THIRD biological brother (and twin of Jor-El) Nim-El's very own wife here "Dondra-El"! Now THAT could work! It solves as to HOW she could helm from the "house of El" all together!

Well so much for my thinking she was actually their Science Police head chief "Rachel" being Superwoman and acting as double agent for Alura AND Sam Lane at the same time. :/

YES PLEASE! :D
You remember how Supergirl split in two after being exposed to Black Kryptonite. What is Alura (who was exposed to the Kryptonite poisoning from Kara) was also split in two. Superwoman being the "good" Alura, but forced to do bad things by Lane, but the real "bad" Alura is running the show on New Krypton. What do you think?

ReplyDeleteThanks for the post.
That's as good a guess as any I have heard so far. Intriguing thought.
