Supergirl #36 Preview

Supergirl #36 is coming out tomorrow, but Newsarama put up preview pages yesterday. You can see the first 5 pages in their entireity at this link: http://www.newsarama.com/php/multimedia/album.php?aid=24780

Well, it looks like Zor-El is dead.

And Kara has been exposed to Gold K, leaving her vulnerable on this battle field.

And it looks like Kara is going to run to defend her father's body, perhaps to avenge him!

Wow! This looks like it is going to be great! And I think this is the best stuff that Jamal Igle has ever produced!

Review should be up Thursday!

  1. i know we're all very excited about the direction that supergirl and the superman books are taking, and for good reason, but i can't say i'm too excited about the death of zor-el. i'll be happy to change my mind on wednesday, but at the moment, i'm not into it. we already have superman losing his parents, and i don't know that we need kara to lose one of hers... hopefully, a great story comes out of it...

  2. It forces her to chose between Mom (i.e Kandor) and Earth (cousin Kal) to that extent it makes for tight drama so I am content with it.
Hey at least she isn't spearing people with her mysterious crystal spike super power....

    Thanks for the post.

I was thinking about this as I looked at these pages. The character of Zor-El was basically re-introduced and killed off within about 90 days.

It does seem like his hasty departure will impact Kara in a significant way. But there could have been some potential with him being around.

  4. Man I'm so truly peeved that PTB up at DC deciding on offing Zor-El thanks to Reactron and I only hope that Alura realizes exactly who and what she's becoming before her husband's death leads her down the path to becoming that of one Ursa Zod the 2nd!

Actually, if anyone deserved to be offed in this issue I would've preferred it being Alura-El rather then it have being the ever kind, good hearted and benevolent and peaceful father to Kara/Supergirl and husband to Alura-El, A.K.A. Zor-El.

P.S. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! Watch out Reactron! Supergirl's coming for ya big time! (KILL HIM KARA! AVENGE YOUR FATHER!!!)

P.P.S. I was truly wishing also that upon "New Krypton"/Kandor is Rao willing stored on planet Roykn that Zor-El would've been included alive and well in this where he in turn would've followed in his nephew Kal's foot steps and wanting to be known as Superman on there too! *Sighs* Ah well.
