This was definitely Yang's best issue yet, and I don't think its a coincidence that this is the first issue that's no longer a "prequel". Defintely feels like more is opened up to him now that he's not stuck in that specific few days period before Superman lost his powers and his ID.

I liked the inner-guilt Clark has over fighting. And the idea presented that certain morals are hard not to break for the desperate. And that's what Clark is right now, powerless, jobless. And without those powers the man's gotta eat, he's gotta sleep, he's gotta do things that in other words requires currency. I think Jonathan would fully support him accepting the money.

And I don't see Clark as immature when it comes to Lois. The timetable for this whole saga is only a few weeks. This is still pretty raw. He's just not ready for a face-to-face. I don't see why that's not valid. Its not automatically immature for him to understand why she did what she did but still be upset about it. I mean, this is his life. Its not like Lois gave him coffee and put too much sugar in it. Regardless of her intentions she turned his life upside down. I think he has plenty of mature reason to still be reeling from that. RIP Man of Steel, you will be remembered, just not for this hopefully.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669531469217423923.post-14131776985754317872015-10-31T17:40:07.688-04:002015-10-31T17:40:07.688-04:00This is off-topic, but I thought it might interest...This is off-topic, but I thought it might interest readers of this blog. October 31 is Halloween Fest at my local comic book shop, similar to Free Comic Book Day in May. One of my favorite small publishers, Action Lab, is known for its all-ages series, such as the wonderful "Hero Cats of Stellar City." Action Lab released a free comic book featuring its upcoming line of superheroes. I believe it is called "Actionverse," which is coming in November. However, what caught my eye was that Jamal Igle, the amazing Supergirl artist, is writing and drawing for this imprint, as well as creating some of the characters. Mr. Igle's name alone has encouraged me to check it out. I thought readers would want to know, as a change-of-pace from the Superman "Truth" story. She's the only one with brains in this arc. Too bad Tomasi uses her as a punching bag.

Investigative journalism is apparently boring to DCE, so Clark Kent is now in fight club. Just a brawler. Less than a shadow of his former self.

Does anyone in the Supergroup actually like Clark Kent/Superman or his mythology? Other than what it will do for their 'career' - which since the new 52 is dubious at best. Bringing down Superman to these levels is definitely not a plus. And it goes on their permanent record.

Wonder if they have t-shirts "I destroyed Superman" passed around the office yet.

BTW, GREAT REVIEW!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669531469217423923.post-48611811076434231152015-10-30T09:15:08.532-04:002015-10-30T09:15:08.532-04:00Well, I liked this one more than you. Definitely, ...Well, I liked this one more than you. Definitely, I wish this were a 'tying up things' sequence but I assume DC higher-ups have told the Superman teams to vamp for awhile. This is the first superhero fight club story I've enjoyed - I agree, we should have some internal dialogue telling us Clark is going along with things to find out more about links to Hordr.

Could it be he's hoping that if he does well, the audience's belief in him will make him stronger? I'm probably stretching.

Martin Grayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09574149543260175962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669531469217423923.post-28618541542347909702015-10-30T08:42:56.178-04:002015-10-30T08:42:56.178-04:00Reminds me of a couple of episodes of justice lea...Reminds me of a couple of episodes of justice league unlimited. New 52 world ya'll they been planning this since 2011 and they probably hoping the fans will just give in.

Even in the new dc animation universe superman and the other heroes are paled in comparison to the bruce timm animation movies and tv era.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
