It is unfortunate, but I will always compare this title to Peter David's run, one of my favorite comic runs of all time. David wrote all 80 issues. Leonard Kirk drew the bulk of the issues, sandwiched between solid runs by Gary Frank and Ed Benes. And David had a vision and path for Linda in that title, a grand story that was well on it's way by issue #29. That vision has not been present in this title."

Nor it was present in the New 52 reboot. Fortunately Steve Orlando appears to have a direction in mind.

It's tragically amusing. DC killed Kara -the Supergirl who had an established backstory, personality, background and supporting cast- because she was a "Superman with skirt" who was "holding Superman back" and ruining his "Lone Survivor From Krypton" status -which never was important or intended and only a bunch of people gives a damn about-, and then they realized they NEEDED to keep Supergirl around or the copyright on the name could slip away. So they created a new one... and had no idea what to do with her until Peter David came along nearly ten years later.

Similarly, they brought Kara back, and ruined her until Sterling Gates took over. When they rebooted her universe, they had a chance to start over... and they wasted her when H'el on Earth derailed the character.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
